My Thought - 7
The man who spends everything he earned before his death is the most intelligent person.
My Thought - 6
You cannot claim it to be a love marriage if you had fallen in love with someone only after doing a thorough research on her financial and religious background. Love should come instantly - religion, caste, complexion, financial status, etc. should not matter. Otherwise, it's a kind of arranged marriage, the only difference being it is arranged by you and not by your parents.
My Thought - 5
All creatures in the world except human being know how to happily live their everyday life. It is only the man who neither lives himself nor let live his fellow man to live happily.
My Thought - 4
Believe me...hard work always pays off. Whether it pays off you or others - that's a different story. :-)

"Delhi A Novel" by Khushwant Singh - My Review
Delhi is a beautiful city. Khushwant Singh is a great writer. When a good writer gets to write about a beautiful thing, I am not sure why he has to make his writing very ugly. This so called historical fiction is dreadfully bad and full of erotic. Almost all the characters in this book are ugly. It is very difficult to tolerate the kind of ugly words being used throughout the book.
I appreciate the usage of the language in different styles and tones based on the background of the narrator of the story from different times and different group. However, I felt the post independent and 1857 revolt narrations to be very long.
The author has really introduced a lot of monuments in Delhi. Still he missed out a lot more. Also, it is not the complete history of the city. He had chosen to narrate only few incidents.
Had the author avoided the ugly language, the book could have been more interesting.
